Adel has three beautiful parks within the city limits: Kinnick/Feller, Island and Evans.

Kinnick/Feller -- 500 North 10th Street

Kinnick/Feller is Adel's largest and oldest city park. Within the gates you will find sand volleyball courts, four softball fields, football field (where Nile Kinnick played football as a youth) with a cinder track around it, the public swimming pool, a tennis court, the city cemetery, playground equipment, the Little Theater (a community hall), a boat ramp to the river and full park amenities including park benches, grills, 2 shelters, restrooms and a water source. You may also enjoy a newly paved 1/2 mile fitness path around the park. Kinnick/Feller Park is located at the North end of both 9th and 10th Streets.

The Kinnick/Feller gazebo picnic shelter can be reserved for outdoor events. The charge is $25.00. There is no charge for local nonprofit/civic organizations. To reserve a shelter, a reservation form, available at City Hall, must be completed or you may use the on-line form.

Season Pass Tags: Numbered tags with pins will be issued to all season pass holders. These must be presented at the door in order to be admitted on the season pass.

Family Night: Swimming for families only (children must be accompanied by parents) will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Island Park -- 2400 Nantucket Road

Island park provides amenities for tent and mobile-home campers including a water source, restrooms, showers, outlets and fire pits. It also has soccer fields, a new basketball court, paved roads, new horseshoe pits, a shelter and playground equipment. It is also a great place to fish and boat and also boasts a new portage/boat ramp to navigate the low-head dam.

To get to Island park, cross the bridge on the North edge of Adel and take the first right off of highway 169. Take an immediate right on to a gravel road. Follow this road out to the park.

Evans Park

Evans Park is located on South 12th Street (go south on South 11th Street to Cassidy Curve). It has a newly paved 1/2 mile walking path, new playground equipment, a picnic shelter, new restrooms, and new disc golf course. Evans Park has a lot of open space for pick-up games of all types.
