2017 Brick Streets Project Completion

Posted: November 22, 2017

The City of Adel is pleased to announce the substantial completion of the 2017 Brick Streets Reconstruction project. The project area involved Main Street from 10th to 15th, a section of S. 11th, and a section of S. 14th.

For most of the project area, existing brick streets were removed and replaced with a new concrete surface along with new curb and gutter. Residential driveway approaches and sidewalks were replaced with the addition of ADA ramps at all intersections. Additionally, the sanitary sewer and water mains were removed and replaced for residents along the corridor.

The project was completed ahead of schedule due to the hard work of the contractors: Crow River Construction and Caliber Construction. The City would like to thank them for their diligence and attention to detail in completing the project in a timely manner.

The City would like to thank McClure Engineering for designing and overseeing the project.

The City would also like to thank the residents along the project corridor for their patience during the construction phase.

The project will be fully completed next spring as final impacted areas will receive new grass seeding and other minor cleanup.
