Adel Police Department – Press Release

On Friday, October 6, 2017, at about 7:30 a.m., the Adel Police Department responded to a bomb threat note at the ADM Middle School / High School building located at 801 Nile Kinnick Drive South.

The building was evacuated of staff and students and classes were canceled for the day.

The Adel Police Department was assisted by members of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, the Waukee Police Department, and State Fire Marshal Agents with their explosives detection K-9.

A thorough search was conducted of the building and grounds where no explosive device or material was found. Evidence was collected by the Adel Police Department and will be processed by the State crime lab.

A criminal investigation has been initiated to find out the author of the note and identify all involved in this terrorism threat.
