After enduring extended and substantial drought conditions, which resulted in record water demands throughout the summer and fall of 2017, the City’s Water Department has ended its temporary measures enacted to address the increased use of the City’s Water System.
Yesterday was the first chance for the Water Department to end these measures, given the confluence of seasonal weather patterns and usage returning to near normal levels. The Department has been eager to return to regular operations and service.
The temporary measures, which included the Water Watch and the water softening bypass, had no effect on the safety of the City’s water supply.
We apologize for any inconvenience during this drought period.
