At the Adel City Council’s upcoming meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Adel City Hall, the council will discuss and consider whether to proceed with a potential sale of City land in Kinnick Feller Park to the owners of Restoration Harmony at 1015 Riverside Drive.
The City currently leases land directly underneath the Restoration Harmony building in the park to Restoration Harmony. The owners of Restoration Harmony have requested this discussion, as the lease arrangement has caused them zoning, financial, and insurability issues.
The included map depicts the proposal: Restoration Harmony Exhibit #1. The red outline depicts the area necessary to alleviate the issues experienced by the building owners (i.e., the building is brown on the map).
While this action item does not have an official public hearing, you are more than welcome to attend the meeting with your questions or comments. If you cannot attend the meeting, you may submit written or verbal comments beforehand.
Please address your comments to the Adel City Council and drop off or mail them to Adel City Hall, 301 S. 10th Street, PO Box 248, Adel, IA 50003. You may also email your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that, if the council were to proceed, a survey would be ordered. After a survey, an appraisal of the land would be conducted. These items would be followed by a formal public hearing. No official sale will take place at the October 8 council meeting.
