Work has begun on the City’s High Zone Water Main project, which will construct a direct water line connection between the new Water Treatment Plant (i.e., 210 N. 5th Street) and the intersection of Meadow and Old Portland Roads.
The construction project is scheduled to be completed by November 2021, though weather and other factors could affect this timeline.
During construction, temporary traffic disruptions, street closures, and delays are anticipated. Areas of sidewalk removal and replacement will also occur.
The contractor, SM Hentges & Sons, Inc., along with the City of Adel and McClure Engineering Company, will be working with landowners immediately adjacent to the construction to maintain postal service and the collection of garbage, recycling, and yard waste.
