Iowa DOT TEAP Study for HWY 169

Posted: August 7, 2017

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) has released its Traffic Engineering Assistance Program (TEAP) Study for HWY 169 south of the stoplights to 302nd Place.

The study was requested by the City of Adel to review traffic safety in three areas along the highway: the HWY 6 / HWY 169 intersection, the intersection at Fareway and ADM High School, and the section near the new developments.

The TEAP Study recommended minor improvements in the short-term and additional studies in the long-term. In addition, based on all available data, a stoplight at Fareway and ADM was not warranted.

The City’s Street Committee and McClure Engineering have reviewed the study. The City will be working with the DOT in the coming months to begin planning for improvements.
