A full public safety force is vital to any community’s safety and well-being. The Adel Public Safety department is here to make sure you feel safe and comfortable in Adel; make us your place to contact if you ever have safety concerns.

From emergency situations to general concerns, we have the staff and knowledge to be able to address any situation. We’re fully staffed with a police force, fire department, and an ambulance operated by Dallas County to oversee any emergency that arises.

The City’s Public Safety Building is located at 102 S. 10th St. (i.e., at the corner of 10th and Main). It houses both the police department and the volunteer fire department. If you need to contact a specific department, please see each department’s contact information below.

Meet Our Police Department

Adel has a strong police force to help keep the crime rate one of the lowest in the state of Iowa. We’re proud to have people on staff that are fully dedicated to making sure the citizens of Adel remain safe.

Our Volunteer Fire Department

The Adel Fire Department is completely volunteer-based and made up of individuals that are passionate about responding to fires to minimize damage and destruction to homes, businesses, and more.

The Fire Department often holds fundraising events and strives to help members of the community to educate themselves about fire prevention. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, please call us at (515) 993-6723.

Dallas County Ambulance

Since Adel is the county seat, the City is also home to the Dallas County Ambulance, which serves all of Dallas County.
