Recycling Stickers Project

A Note From The South Dallas County Landfill About The Recycling Stickers Projects

Adel residents, we need your help!

Our recycling bins are being filled with non-recyclables. Ankeny Sanitation is unable to take it to a recycling center and it goes to a landfill.

Neither Ankeny Sanitation nor the South Dallas County Landfill wants this to happen. Therefore, they are teaming up with the Adel Scouts to apply stickers on the yellow lids of your bins to show what DOES and DOES NOT go into them.

The Scouts began this project on June 10, 2021. They need you to please leave your recycling bin out front an extra day so that the sticker can be affixed to the yellow lid.

Please clean off the lid so the sticker will adhere properly.

Do not worry if you do not get a sticker right away. This project will take many weeks to complete, as there are over 2,000 stickers that will need to be applied.

Bins must be out front because the Scouts can only affix a sticker to a bin located there. This is a fundraiser for them, so the more they affix, the more they earn for Scout activities.

Please help us out! We all know that recycling is good for the environment. The stickers will be an in-front-of-you reminder of what to put in the yellow bins.

Please put in the bins those items that are recyclable! We appreciate your help with this project.
