The current Evans Park Trail Connection Project is in full swing and the construction crew is starting work along the Penoach Street sidewalks between 14th Street and 15th Street. Construction crews have noticed speeding vehicles, groups of kids walking out into the street to get around the closed sidewalk on their way to the Adel Aquatic Center, and other pedestrians walking/running out into the street to avoid the closed sidewalk. There is a safety concern for pedestrians and the construction crew when vehicles speed near a construction zone or walk out into the street to avoid a construction zone.
The City of Adel asks that residents take a different route around the construction on the Penoach Street sidewalks between 14th Street and 15th Street to remain safe. The construction crew plans to have the trail and driveways paved and ready for resident use by the end next week.
