Park & Recreation

A 12-acre park site, this site is designated as a community park and provides ample open space with rolling terrain made up of open lawn dotted with trees. A paved half-mile trail loop and neighborhood trail connections provide some pedestrian access. Also provided are 3 sand volleyball courts, an open picnic shelter, water fountain, basketball court, 9-hole disc golf course and playground. The newest additions to the park include an ADA swing and a 125′ mantis zipline. Parking and restroom facilities are also available to accommodate users.

Park Shelter Reservations

The Evans picnic shelter can be reserved for outdoor events. Reservation season runs from April 15-October 15. Fees start at $30 for Adel residents ($40 for nonresidents). There is no charge for local nonprofit/civic organizations. View shelter availability and make reservations online at adel.actitivyreg.com. Reservations can also be made in person at City Hall. The shelters are great for meetings, weddings, birthday parties, or other outdoor events.
