Kinnick-Feller Riverside Park is Adel’s oldest park and is home to the original football field Nile Kinnick played on in his youth. At 23 acres, the park is also currently one of the largest parks within the community. The park has ball fields, a football field, trail loop, tennis and basketball courts, playground equipment, boat ramp to the river, and group picnicking amenities. The Little Theatre Community Hall is available for rental through a private business. The park was also once home to the City’s community pool, which have now been removed with the opening of the Aquatic Center.

Park Shelter Reservations

The Kinnick-Feller gazebo and picnic shelters can be reserved for outdoor events. Reservation season runs from April 15-October 15. Fees start at $15 or $30 for Adel residents depending on shelter. ($25 or $40 for nonresidents). There is no charge for local nonprofit/civic organizations. View shelter availability and make reservations online at adel.actitivyreg.com. Reservations can also be made in person at City Hall. The shelters are great for meetings, weddings, birthday parties, or other outdoor events.

Ball field Practice Time

The Adel ball fields are in are in high demand during youth baseball, softball, and adult league seasons. Adel Parks and Recreation programs have first priority. After game and practice schedules have been made for Adel Parks and Recreation programs, the available field time will be opened to others for practice. Reservations are $15/field for 1.5 hours. Users are limited to 1 slot in any given day and 2 slots per 5 day period to ensure opportunities for all. Ball field Tournament Rentals

The ball fields located in Kinnick-Feller Park are available to rent for tournaments. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for pricing, availability, and reservations. Tournament and events may include use of concession stand.
